<p>Depends on what you want to do at a hedge fund. If its trading, then some experience in prop trading would definitely be a plus. Traders and trading strategists are the highest paid at a hedge fund. If you want to be a trader, then go work at a bulge bracket bank for a few years and then make a transition.</p>
<p>Quantitative majors as you listed are good majors for traders but aren’t necessarily make or break. The more applied math, the better in my opinion.</p>
<p>It’s pretty hard to get into a hedge fund straight from college, even if you go to a target school. Your best bet would be to go into S&T first</p>
