Hey guys, I just wrote a blog post on the college admissions process – specifically on the admissions essay. Take a look at it and if you find it helpful, share it with as many people as you can!

Hey, you might want to read the part of the rules where they say not to post links to blogs.
Ahhhhh this was so awesome! I loved how positive it was. Right now i’m stressing because I have like 6 supplemental essays to write and i’ve only gotten 4 done, and i just don’t know what to do but this was really encouraging. Thank you!
Useful! I’ve been going through some serious essay burnout lately, but this helped.
Also liked your article about AA. I knew Berkeley had a massive percentage of Asians, but never considered what that really meant.
yeah!! That “Show, Don’t tell!!” policy seems to overrated for me… What most students take out of this policy (after reading about it on MIT blog) is that they have to show throughout the essay…
I think showing at the start (about your passion) and showing again (at the last, while summarizing) is necessary… Trying to show at each place makes a good comics book but not a good essay…
I’m glad you guys found it helpful! I’ve gotten a lot of help from others in many different things and I felt like I could do the same by giving back some of my knowledge and opinions.
The blog is wonderful. But I would like add something -
While the post says you should throw away the fear of rejection, it doesn’t mean you should take things lightly. A lot of people see such advices as a motivation to be careless. If they don’t have fear of applications, they will end up applying as a student who isn’t worried, or doesn’t care about unis.
Please keep that in mind
