How to get into UNC for LD program

I have learned of a very supportive program at Chapel Hill for learning disabilities (specifically ADD). This program sounds perfect for my son and exactly what we are looking for in a school but I am wondering how anyone with true ADD would have the stats to get accepted into UNC especially OOS. My S is a junior taking a fairly challenging schedule. He has taken the ACT in 8th grade (29) and 9th grade (31) and will be taking it again this spring. He took the PSAT this fall and got a 207. He will probably be taking the SAT in June. The problem is his gpa is only 3.3 uw (school does not weight) and his rank is not that great because alot of students at his school do not take honors or AP classes. He does not receive any accomodations for his ADD (long story but school S attends is not supportive at all) which is the reason his grades are low. He always does well on tests and final exams( only worth 10% of grade) but has trouble with keeping up with daily homework assignments in 6 classes on top of school activities. He has recently started therapy and counseling for his ADD issues and started a new medication that will hopefully help bring his grades up next semester. However, even if his grades improve, his gpa will not be inline with those for UNC. Anyone have any suggestions?

i would email UNC and see what they have to say. i have no idea. they may take it into serious consideration that he has ADD when looking at his stuff.

Bump…
