<p>This is an incredibly vague topic, and I don’t really feel like there are any specific means to increase your chances at UT versus any other well-respected school. Take challenging classes, get good grades, and do as well as you can on your standardized tests.</p>
<p>I would suggest that you spend a good deal of time on the UT website and see what they are looking for. Indirectly, the cap does apply because UT only has so much capacity and once they admit those they are required to admit, there aren’t many spots left. Rigor of class work and gpa become important then.</p>
