<p>Well, my Barnard admissions counselor has received all my supplementary materials; my history teacher agreed to email my schools on my behalf since he lost his voice and can’t call and lobby for me; and my ego’s been deflated since a friend of mine told me that my letter of interest was “a bit much… perhaps * overdid it.”</p>
<p>And now… I wait. Good luck to everyone (except if you’re trying for Barnard or Emory-- in that case, back off)!</p>

<p>thanks, trackie, for the compliment and for withdrawing! i hope it was just my friend being her usual unpleasant self when she critiqued my letter… i worked my butt off on that thing, as sad as it is. i know of two others from my high school and a girl in the area who turned down emory, so i’m crossing my fingers. barnard’s still my number one, sorry to say.</p>
<p>Just wondering, but will it help if i get current students and alumnus to help out a friend by sending like 3-4 letters on his behalf?</p>
<p>honestly, i don’t think the school is really going to care if students and alumnus write letters unless they’ve done something really huge for the school</p>
<p>Donated money? Like 40K a year? I dunno…that might not be a lot</p>

i got a call from a 314 number today and i was freaking out b/c i thought it was washu and it turned out to be some data survey for hs students thing.. i was really mad.</p>
<p>anyway.. i guess my hopes are over.</p>
<p>trackie, don’t give up hope! A friend of mine was accepted off the waitlist in late June last year, and she’s not even a quarter as qualified as you.</p>
