How to get on Wolverine Access?

I see everyone here talking about using Wolverine Access to check their application status, but how do I get on it? I see on this website (http://admissions.umich.edu/application-status) that you need to wait 10 business days and then you can start checking it, but what does that mean? I was able to sign up for a friend account, but the next step on website says that I need to use an 8 digit UMID that I’m supposed to get in an email. Do I get the email with the UMID after 10 business days?

It took about 2 and a half weeks for my email to be sent with my UMID. In the meantime, I signed up for my friend account in which I added my UMID. Have you received it as of now?
