How to get out of a USELESS PATHETIC CLASS

Hello.
So I'm getting really annoyed of a class I have on a daily basis
The class is called iConnect (or Advisory or Homeroom) (My stupid school thinks its "hip" to call it that)
Anyways I really HATE it
I have it everyday for 35 mins (The whole school has it but it differs from class to class)
We do pretty stupid useless stuff
For example today we talked about relationships and what makes a relationship work
The teacher (who I don't like as well) was stating the obvious such as being loyal or having communication

Any legal way or loophole for me to get out of the pathetic class
I live in California
I was going to tell them that technically I'm done with all my credits so their so no point of me in going to school but then they would tell me this load of bull that was a basic no
OR just come late to school since iConnect starts in the morning

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :)

So why don’t you come later than this class if it’s not graded?

Lol yeah just go to school late or something.

It technically doesn’t get placed in my official transcript but my school does some stupid scoring bs that takes points every time your tardy. Also when the school notices your being late constantly you get placed on a “contract” and make you do extra community service hours (I don’t mind doing extra hours)

If I’m totally honest about it, I don’t see the problem.
Just sleep in that class or something then.

What type of school do you go to? I’ve never heard of anything like what you’re describing.

Its a small charter school thinking their “different” if you only knew how “different” my school tries to be. I mean I would sleep but the teacher throws a major tantrum . I would go late but my school closes the gates at 8:10 and makes you call the office for an escort so I can’t be slick getting into school or I just get placed on a contract. I was just wondering if there was some actual legal ability I had to get out of the class. I was going to go act stupid and say its against my religion but then my school gets all defensive… soooooo :|

All schools have dumb required classes as far as I know? My school has three like this, one in your freshman year and two in your junior year.
Seriously, it’s 35 minutes. In which you don’t have to do anything. You’ll live.

Just go. It’s not a big deal. Besides, often these things do have a kind of purpose. I mean, PSE over here is a joke half the time, but it’s how they deliver sex ed and help with choosing subjects and uni applications, so it’s not completely pointless.

Don’t get worked up about it. It’s 35 minutes of sitting around before you’ve properly woken up in the morning, not the end of the world.

(You could see if you can semi-secretly do homework and stuff during it. I do that with registration (half an hour each morning to check you’re in school and read out the bulletin) and now only do essays and other long projects at home.)

Suck it up!

just doodle during the class or something

Listen to some music?

Just suck it up, I guess. I know what you mean though. Our school has a lot of useless, mandatory classes that take up time in your schedule, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I do homework during those classes.

Similar classes to this are compulsory for the entire UK. Today we were writing a practice CV for no job in particular, when none of us have any experience or qualifications yet. Last week was piercings and tattoos.
It’s pointless, but just relax. Sometimes (or a lot of the time) you’ll have to do pointless things.

I have a class like that Tuesdays and Thursdays. I hate it so much!! But I do my homework instead of paying attention lol

I thought you were going to tell them, “I’m done.” and just not go xD

I have a mandatory advisory and hate it as well, but there’s no use bothering about it. The other school in the same building calls it crew because it’s ghetto. Like literally though.

Your all right :frowning: I’ll probably just be discrete about my music or draw. Seriously why do they come up with these pathetic classes. I hate it more because of the teacher. Why can’t we just have study lab D: Thanks for all your input. Sucks that I’ll have it next year with the same teacher :frowning:

*discreet

because apparently I don’t get to see my SAT scores until 5:30 a.m. so I feel like being annoying.

Interesting username, by the way.

I actually thought that discrete and discreet were alternate spellings and wondered why you corrected him, but looked it up before saying anything thankfully.

Discrete = Separate
Discreet = Intentionally unobtrusive

Huh. Well we learn something new every day.
