How to get Rescinded?

Hi, I'm wondering what grades you have to maintain second semester to really have your acceptance be safe. I've applied to all private schools, and they're not overly impressive compared to some on this website - American, Gonzaga, George Washington, Fordham, Duquesne, Vermont, etc. For these private schools, do you generally need to maintain a certain GPA, or do they look at each individual class? Do know that my grades were fairly bad 9th/10th, and 11th/12th were the real selling points.

Thank you.

you’re supposed to maintain your current academic level… so if you always get straight As, keep it that way. if you have a 3.5 keep it that way.

however i think its safe to say stay away from Cs.

Vermont? The University of Vermont isn’t a private school.

But just maintain your current academics to guarantee you don’t get rescinded. As long as you don’t drop below a B, you should be fine.

do private schools rescind more often than public/state universities?

I’m sorry, you’re correct, Vermont is the only school that isn’t private.

I realize that you theoretically should maintain the same grades, but in all honesty, I’m most definitely not going to be able to get all A’s. There is no incentive to work, and it seems like everyone is slacking off right now as seniors apparently have in the past. This is not a mature attitude, I know, but I’ve worked pretty hard and am wondering if a C or two will be troubling or “good enough.”

wow i feel like ive slacked off a lot
but really thats just making two of my straight As to become Bs… well probs just one. haha

stay away from Cs and you should be fine.

my midyear report shows my C in calc, but i still got into uvm. if my C stays, they won’t rescind me will they?

A C won’t get you rescinded. There are many, many students who experience “Senior Slump” and do not have admission rescinded. I assure you of this! One girl from my son’s prep school barely passed calculus. She was NOT strong in math. She had to go explain to Columbia why this happened, but they didn’t rescind the decision.
