How to get roommates to clean?

How do you get your roommates to clean more?

I'm tired of cleaning the toilet and the shower/bath tub and sink etc. These guys use this stuff too but they never want to clean it.

For instance, there's urine all over the toilet seat... I squat to do my number twos. lol

There's hair all over the bathroom sink. It's not my hair because I don't have very long hair.

Or there's dishes always in the sink. It's not my dishes because I eat with paper plates or drink out of bottles. Etc.

So, how do you get guys to clean more lmao?

Talk to them. Period.

^Ha. Ha. Ha.

Well, that would be your FIRST course of action.

But living with a bunch of people, I know it usually doesn’t work.

We do a schedule - X cleans the bathroom this week, Y does it this week, etc. etc.

But, of course, you can’t force anyone to abide by the schedule - there has to be an element of peer pressure involved. If you’re the only one who cares about cleanliness and you’re not all going to be mutually invested (or 2/3 or 3/4s aren’t going to be mutually invested), then you may be SOL.

Assuming everyone is interested in the chore idea, you may be forced to clean up some messes you didn’t make, but that’s better than cleaning up ALL the messes you didn’t make, eh? Ex. you can’t be like, well, I don’t have long hair, so I’m not picking this up. You have to make the sacrifice for the greater good.

I’d like some more serious suggestions here.

Esp. if you have a whole HOUSE to clean…

OP: i hate when the apartmentmates dont do their share, but I hate to say it, you need to talk to them.
