How to get this done?

I want to start a club that focuses on a certain issue, but there's already a club at my school that focuses on community service. I would very happily stick with this club and give it my all, but the problem is that I was in it last year too and no one wants to do anything. Last year I was in grade 10, and the leaders could only be in grade 11 or 12. The teacher sponsor said it didn't matter if I wasn't a leader and that I could still plan things and do them, but they just didn't want to! The thing is that I have lots of different ideas for my club, and I'm confident that I could find a teacher sponsor. How do I get the administration to let me start this club? The other one does nothing, but I don't want to say that to the principal... it would be rude. :/ And also, it has a specific focus and would be registered with an international organization.

Just go for it. Lots of schools have some really similar clubs running around. You’ll never know until you try. Plus, the motivation you have will show and go a long away with admins.

make sure you have a plan before requesting it. and i think comparison would be a great way of showing that you want to do something that is not what the other club does. Don’t say that the other one does nothing, but show that the other one has completely different objectives then you do. specify that you club has a specific motive, and narrow it down if possible. You want to do something with community service, so use your specific as a guide to the name, the objectives and of course to the admins saying “Yes!!”
