How to get to Cornell?

I want to go up for Cornell Days, but I'm visiting a few other schools for their special weekends too and my parents are hesitant about sending me up to Cornell because it seems pretty tough to schedule everything (ground transportation, flights into Syracuse).

Can a current student/anyone who is planning to go to Cornell Days inform me on how they get up there and what way is the easiest and most cost-effective?

^^ bump ^^

Any current students that could describe how they get up there? I’m from the midwest

There are a few options. A friend from Kansas City flies into Ithaca via Newark. You can also fly into Syracuse or Rochester and then take a shuttle bus. If you are traveling to other schools in the area, you will have to figure out how much ground transportation makes sense. We live in NJ and would never use a flight from Newark (checking in would take longer than it’s worth). We either drive up (3.5 hours one way) or put our son on a charter bus (they run them for school breaks from a number of locations in our area). There are regular buses that run from our area direct to campus, too, but they are an hour drive from our house. There are also buses direct from NYC (campus to campus bus). Those are worth considering if you need to be in Manhattan to see another school.

Does that help? Let me know if I can answer anything else or give you other links.

You can also fly into Ithaca. Layover for us is usually in Philadelphia, but also sometimes in Detroit or Cleveland. Once, my son was rerouted into Elmira NY. He and his dad did a NE junket in April after letters came out two years ago, flying into one city, renting a car, and visiting three colleges. I think they may have flown into Hartford, out of Syracuse. If you are going alone and just visiting Cornell, it is probably easier to fly directly into Ithaca. Small airport, very personal service! When I arrive, they actually have my bag ready and waiting before I’m even out of the bathroom!
