How to get to ND?

I’m thinking about transferring to ND (esp after seeing the generous admitted transfer %)

Anyone from the east coast go to ND?

I just did a quick mapquest and its something like an 11.5 hour drive (731 miles) from my house.

Or do you guys just fly? if so which airport/airline do usually use. and how far is the actual campus from the airport?

It just seems to be too much of a hassle / I’d be the only kid from the east coast.

Many, many, many people from the east coast attend ND. The NYC alumni club is the largest alumni club in the country after Chicago.

…bmw dude its very hard to get into as a transfer. it says the mean gpa is a 3.7 in college. nd is mostly kids from the midwest and east coast.

Are you at schreyers honors college?

I fly from Providence to O’Hare to South Bend and then rent a car from South Bend. It may not be the most effective way to go, but you save money on the rental car and you save time instead of trying to figure out how long it is to Chicago. I drove out my first time and it took 14 hrs over two days. I got spoiled when we flew so I doubt I will drive again. Flying into South Bend is just really convenient and would suggest it.

^^^ then rent a car from South Bend

Just curious how old do you have to be to rent a car ??? Thought it was in mid 20s?

maybe it’s me but transferring to ND is very difficult. I have tried 3 times with a gpa above a 3.7 and was never admitted. But it is how it is. They do accept kids with lower gpa’s and on rare occasions much much lower.

SouthJerseyChessMom- you are supposed to be 25 years old to rent a car–however, most rental agencies will rent to younger than 25, but you pay a ridiculous rate. (We have never done this!) It is interesting that 25 is the magical age–again, one of those issues where it seems that it is such an arbitrary number. Also, most rental agencies will not do one-way rentals anymore, or if they do, again a ridiculous rate. Economy and insurance issues taking cars out of state and leaving the car in a different state have stopped many agencies from one-way rentals.

^^ Thanks , appreciate the additional info.
