Hello! I am new to UF and didn't put in for the lottery on Gator Zone like I should have back in June. Found out about it way too late. So now I am stuck looking for game tickets on my own. Anyone know the best way to go about this? I looked on craigslist for tickets to this upcoming game and people are selling them for like $70 a pop!! I would like to get at least 2 tickets. Help! Thanks. :)

If you don’t have friends with tickets they want to sell, it can be a real crapshoot. I’ve spent over 100 for a single game (LSU two years ago). Your best bet is just to stalk craigslist or facebook marketplace and hope to get lucky. For not so good games, if you wait till game day (and arn’t super committed) sometimes people will be almost giving away tickets that they failed to scalp. I’m not sure if that will be the case for USF (probably not).

I sold my spare to USF for 40 to a friend, on the open market I would of asked 100. Football is a huge deal.

Alternatively unclaimed ticket sales happen every thursday. You have to get lucky on those. They basically sell all the tickets students didn’t pick up. http://gatorzone.com/tickets/students/?p=footb/unclaimed

Remember you need a student ID to get through stadium gate with a student ticket. If your friends aren’t UF students with IDs, they can’t use student tickets unless you are able to upgrade the tickets for guests. In other words, don’t get stuck with $70 student tickets if you really need some regular admission tickets.

^^^
With regards to that, if the guest is student age, all they need is a student ID. For example, one of my d’s sorority sisters wasn’t using her ticket this past weekend, so she let my d scan it w/ hers so D’s best friend of UNF could come to the game with her. BF then borrowed the ID for the game and got in just fine. Obviously, there’s a trust issue there that the ID will not be lost and will be returned. LOL

zebes

I wouldn’t risk getting arrested this weekend at the game for using another’s ID. With all the commotion going on with the group in Gainesville planning on burning a Koran this Saturday, 9-11, security will be much tighter at Ben Hill Griffin and I doubt police will cut much slack for anyone.

It wouldn’t be too much fun being under arrest handcuffed to a chainlink fence at the stadium for the whole game, but I guess for the guys it might not be too bad having to ride in a paddy wagon full of sorority girls to the Alachua county jail!

I’m watching the game on TV.

I’m selling mine for $60…pm me if interested.

They are never going to check id’s thoroughly, it isn’t a security issue, it’s just to try to keep as few non-students out of the student section as possible. It would be more of a security issue if they thoroughly checked IDs, because already people start to get beligerent because of the lines. I once had a friend use an id of somebody of a different race. I havn’t had a guy use a woman’s id, but I bet that would work too. Just put the ticket on top of the picture when you walk by the first check.

It’s also not the police who check ids, it’s event staff, and they simply don’t care.

Wow. Thanks guys! I appreciate all the help! Jeez $60 is a lot more than I hoped to pay! I have friends coming up from Tampa who could have got me tickets but I couldn’t bring myself to go with them to sit with all the USF fans. Ugh but I def don’t wanna sit by myself in our student section either. I guess I’ll wait for Thursday then and go from there. Let me know if anyone thinks of a cheaper solution. I appreciate it.

^Definitely you should have put in for the lottery–$60 is cheap now.
