i wish to reach a goal of 2300 so badly guys.
back in november/october i got a 158 on my PSAT. since then i have worked really hard and landed an 1860. however i realize that i still haven't put my best effort in. I wish to study 'efficiently' with your help, cc community.

anyways my break down was 650/630/580 with an essay score of 8. (M/CR/W respetivvvvvvly)

alright guys what can i do to improve my score by the JUNE sat?

the only reason why i have set such a high goal is cause my gpa is **** this year(dropped .5 points from a 3.5 to 3.0 and i am hoping my SAT can make up for it.

getting a 2300 is defeintly possible bro.
my family friend who now goes to NYU went from a 1740 to a 2320 by hardwork. i would get in contact with him but he is to busy studying for his MCATs

It’s def possible but that kind of jump is really hard to pull off, but then again it is possible.

1 Buy the CB Blue Book and do a test a week or a test every two weeks under timed conditions, and then go over your mistakes and try to understand why you made a certain mistake.

2 Buy the Direct Hits vocab book, the absolute best vocab book imo.

A combination of the two things listed above should be enough to help you at least increase your score.

there’s not a reason in the world why you can’t raise your score that increment. xon’t listen to mirage. my students come to me with worse scores and get better…and i only see them an hour a week, so they are doing massive work on their own.

there are some tips and tricks about standardized testing and the patterns of the SAT, but i won’t go into them here.

if you don’t have a good vocabulary or strong reading skills, it’s difficult to raise the cr score, so read everyday…things like the nytimes, textbooks, vanity fair, the new yorker, and then have a kitchen table talk with someone…summarize, giving the main idea, any devices used, etc.

you got good advice about taking a test every week (at least one) and determining yourself why your answer was incorrect.

know your strategy…which questions will you skip?

have a plan for your essay. my kids consistently get 10’s and 12’s because they have a template for the essay.

good luck, you can do it. don’t let people tell you that you can’t. learning how to take the sat is a skill that can be learned…it’s not a natural gift. it’s less about reading, writing and math than it is about understanding the traps, the tricks and the patterns that the sat uses.

Chicken its possible, nothing is limited. The more you do, the more you learn. Practice practice the right way and the change will come gradually.

planning on sleeping atm and waking up around 8 am. gonna eat breakfast and then work on SATs till 12-ish from where i have to go to school to help out for this charity event being hosted. ima comeback around 1 and review ap stuff and start again with SAT stuff around 7 ish.
thats my goal for 2mrw:P

Good luck with that!
I’m also on that battle field. On January I got 1950 (hah! My aunt was born that year!) so now I’m headed to those 23xx. I’ve been told that to think it’s impossible is unthinkable in such a situation.
So, let’s not think!

^^best advice in this thread so far. cheaa
Anyways, I’m in the same boat, but I’m starting from a 1910 (March SAT). I’m thinking about retaking it in June. woohoo -___-. I think we can do it! (I’m not crazy - when I say “we”, I mean me, you, maskerade, and ‘urbody’ else on this boat :D. We should start a support group. lulz)

yea im with you guys. i actually got lower than all of you (1730…yikes) but yea im gonna try to make time to study for at least an hour every day until the june sat. i just want a 2000+. I hope we all can get there!
