I would really like to go to John Hopkins CTY summer program this year. However, I would like to know how to get accepted and how to get financial aid. Tips on how to get in would be great!

Also is there a fee waiver for the application and test date? Thanks! :)

You need to take the SATs and make a certain minimum score (you can find this on the Summer Programs Eligibility section of cty.jhu.edu). If you qualify for free/reduced price lunch, CTY will grant you a Talent Search Fee Waiver. Once you make the score requirement, then you are accepted into the program on a first come, first served basis. When you select the courses you want, you will also put in an application for Financial Aid. CTY seems to be very generous with aid even in the down economy.

Take the SATs in the fall so that you receive the scores in time to apply for the courses you want as soon as the list is released. If you have to register late, there may be no room in your preferred courses. My S always listed a bunch of options but got his first choice; CTY doesn’t guarantee that, however.

A lot of the courses are the same every year, so if you look at past years’ course catalogs you will have a rough idea of the offerings.
