Did you study or take any practice exams beforehand? If not, doing so would help. I recommend using the Red Book for the ACT. The only way to raise your score is through practice.
hi thanks for responding. how would you handle the reading portion? did you skim or read the entire passage?
Can you afford a class? I think students with fairly low scores benefit the most from them.
unfortunately no. its kind of expensive
For reading, I take around 4 minutes to read the passage and 4 minutes to answer the questions for that passage. It’s important to get the big idea, but not important to get every little detail.
Reading is the section that requires the most practice to do well on (at least that was the case for me).

I suggest you buy the books and take many practice exams and go through the questions one by one even the ones you got right.
