I have a month to improve my ACT composite score by at least 5 points. Anyone got any advice?

Let me know if you get any advice. i need to improve by at least 5 points too! Good Luck!

Take as many REAL ACT tests as you can, get the, real ACT prep guide(the red book) since it contains 3 Real ACT tests, also sign up at actstudent.org for the online prep which contains 2 more real ACT tests, then get an ACT registation packet from your school counselor, since it contains another real ACT test. So with All this prep you will get 6 real ACT tests all for only 40 bucks

Get the Red Book (I think I got mine for $4 online, slightly used) and take the tests in there. It’s all I did to get a 35… Literally, practice and immersion in the material is the most effective way to improve your performance. Maybe do the first test with unlimited timing to get a feel for the questions, but then put yourself in the actual timing conditions. Always review the answers you got wrong or guessed on and understand why you got it wrong and why the correct answer is correct.

Science tip: Work backwards, doing the last passage (most difficult) first and working your way to the first. Allot yourself exactly five minutes for each passage (reading, analyzing, and answering the questions). FORCE yourself to move on. If time permits, go back. At the last minute, fill in any remaining bubbles (guess).

Reading tip: Don’t read the questions first (this works for some, particularly those who don’t take as long to read). Read the passage at a BRISK quick pace that allows for complete understanding. The correct answer to every question should be completely verifiable in the passage; you shouldn’t have to assume, deduce, or reason - it’s fairly clear-cut.

English tip: This section is perhaps the one you’re most prone to making mistakes on (by accident). If time permits, be SURE to check your work. Go back and read the passage and at each question, read with your answer in the blank and ensure it is proper.

Math tip: Practice.

@SeekingUni: thanks so much! Ill try that. I have the most problems with the reading and science parts, mainly because Im slow. I got a 29 on the english part, hopefully above a 30 next time.

Read alot! Do math practice problems and study grammar rules. You should be fine.

wow that’s awesome advice, thanks so much. I got my red book ;)

Good luck! For the math, I just study my trig functions and do lots of practice!
