How to improve English ACT score?

I can score a 36 on math but struggle on english making a 21-22. What is the best way to boost my score? I take the test on April 9th. Also is the Real ACT prep book (red book) beneficial or is there a better choice out there?

There’s no way you can get a 36 on Math but a 21 on English.

you could easily increase your score to a 27+ I would assume. Buy the Princeton Review, IMO, their English section is fantastic.

Take practice tests in English, but most importantly, read the reason for your incorrect answers so you don’t keep making the same mistakes.

Study basic grammar and rhetorical skills. ACT English is pretty easy.

@mtv22 one of the most ignorant comment I have ever seen post online

@mtv: Have you even taken the test? Only basic comprehension of the English language is required for a 36 on Math. Ever heard of people who are very good at math, but not-so-good at writing? That’s how.

As for how to improve English scores…

Practice.

Identify mistakes. Understand why you got it wrong. Learn and practice that specific rule.

Identify your biggest areas of concern. For example, you might be good at comma usage, but bad at subject-verb agreement. Spend extra time on these areas.

I’d recommend the Princeton Review book for English.
