I've only taken the SAT once so far, and I got a 700 on writing.

According to the My SAT website, I only got 2 questions wrong and I got a 9 on my essay.

The writing section was seriously the biggest piece of cake ever, I was convinced that I had every single question right on the multiple choice, so I suppose 2 wrong isn't that big of a deal.

So how can I improve my score? I'm not sure what the breakdown is between the essay score and the MC score.

Look over the sample essays on the College Board website and try to write some practice essays that are as convincing as the best sample.

Two wrong on the MC section is great. Improve your essay score and you’ll be seeing near 800s. The best guide to improving your SAT essay score is AcademicHacker’s ten day guide.

Thanks, if only my math and reading were anywhere near the same level. ^

But I shall check that out.

Frankly, I’m shocked that you got a 47/49 on the MC, had a 9 essay, and only received a 700. On conversion charts that is usually equivalent to a high 700 score. I’d check out AcademicHacker’s essay guide, as you really don’t need much work on the MC section. If you want, maybe freshen up with the rules a little bit? Either way I think you are going to see a large score improvement naturally.
