How to improve my transfer chances?

Hi everyone, my name is Albert! You may have seen me around here and there in this subforum. I am applying as a transfer student for Fall 2012 to the University of Michigan. I am hoping I can have a few of you chance me and discuss what I can do to improve my chances in the future, if Fall 2012 is not my year.

Current College: Wayne State University (Honors) (Full Ride)
College GPA: 3.79 (16 Credits)
Residence: Instate
ACT Score: 30
HS GPA: 3.61 (Upward trend throughout)
Transfer Essays: Above average
Notes:[ul]
[] Full ride to Wayne State
[] Waitlisted to UofM for freshmen entrance
[] Student Government President in HS
[] Class Council VP in HS
[] Applying for Econ major in LSA
[li] What will kill me: Failed AP Physics in 11th grade. Went back senior year and passed regular physics.[/li][] Above average course rigor in high school.
[li] Transfor reason: Seeking more extracurricular opportunities[/ul]
[/li]

I feel quite confident in my transfer essays. My ACT is above average. My college GPA is above average. My HS GPA is average, if not below average, that F in AP Physics kills me.

What do you all think my chances are to get in to LSA for an Econ major? Many things are going my way but there are things not going my way too.

There isn’t anything you can do about that physics grade now, so try not to worry about it. Plus, it’s not like you’re applying as a physics major. Like you said, your HS GPA and ACT scores are probably good enough for UMich and you have a good college GPA. Just make sure your essays and LORs are as good as they can be. Also, hopefully you have some college ECs that you can list. If not, maybe try to get involved in some clubs.

Good luck!! I think you have a good shot. Try not to worry about the past, it’ll just stress you out and there’s nothing you can do to change it.

Alright, thanks! Can I get any second opinions on my chances as well?
