My best math score is like a 460 and best writing is like 560. I know I can really improve on both of these sections. I'm more than satisfied with my reading score. What books would you recommend for improving with math and writing? I completely fail the grid in section every time. The writing section I need help with grammar and sentence errors.

There are a lot of options you can try. I know people do love Barron’s SAT Writing Workbook. I personally haven’t even finished it let alone barely started it (took the practice test and did like 4 sections of grammar; the essay guide is almost useless). If you’re willing to try it, check out this post and read it all the way through. It honestly helped me a lot in the writing section.

As for math, a good book to start with is either PWNtheSAT Math or Gruber’s Math Workbook. Both are very good. If you can get both and have more than a month to work on it, do it. If not, get one of them. I would recommend PWNtheSAT Math cause it actually has answers to the blue book math questions in the back of the book.

Also, get the blue book (The Official Study Guide 2nd Edition). You won’t get scores by just reading the book (maybe a 50+ point increase). You need to practice timed and understand why you got a question wrong. Good luck increasing your scores.

In another post you had a 2350 in the SAT?

barrons writing is very helpful
