How to improve SAT critical reading?

Ok, im trying to improve my CR score and its in the 500s still. I always get 5 wrong per section and its really getting me frustrated. Ive taken so many practice tests. 8 from the blue book and 5 from the Princeton review, and honestly im making little to no progress. Im so lost. and so mad. what do I do? how do I improve this score? please don't tell me to read because that is long term. Someone. help
- im willing to purchase the online course, I haven't used all the blue book tests yet because im afraid that when im done with it I will have made no progress.

I know how you feel, I started off pretty bad at CR as well. And I practiced quite a bit, but didn’t see results for a while. The solution is to KEEP PRACTICING, because the results come very slowly and in short and sudden bursts. It’s pure practice, and nothing else. There’s no quick fix, no remedy, just raw practice. If you do about 3-5 25 minute critical reading sections each day for about a month, you’ll improve your score to anything between 750 and 800. Initially, this is pretty daunting… but a few days in it becomes fun and you actually get eager to do more practice sections.

As for vocabulary, skip the hit parade, and just look up any words you don’t know as you’re doing the studying recommended above - this is because SAT has a pretty defined set of words that it likes and reuses (i.e Iconoclast, capricious, sycophant etc.), so there’s no point memorizing a bunch of useless vocabulary words.

I recommend that you do EVERY practice test in the Blue Book, buy the Princeton Review 11 practice tests books and do as many as you can. Good luck and don’t lose confidence. The end result is extremely rewarding.

Thank god theres someone else who struggled as well. Alright thanks for the advice, I’ll continue to practice. I have lot of time till the October SAT and I wont waste a single day. Thank you so much.
