How to Improve SAT Scores

If I hadn't recently discovered College Confidential, I might have been happy with my actually-pretty-decent SAT scores from the January 2010 test...But I DID discover College Confidential, I am NOT totally thrilled with my scores, and I am retaking in March.

I am now in search of any tried-and-true advice for raising SAT scores, specifically in Critical Reading and Math.

Also, if you have used a specific method yourself and saw a significant score increase, please list the before-and-after results along with your suggestions.

Thanks! And congratulations to everyone who has already reached their score goals!

To be honest I didn’t reach my score goals. It was my first time so I’ll just retake it.

I got a 1950:

670 on Math
670 on Writing
610 on Reading

I’m mostly going to focus on getting a 2100 next time.

I did score more than 2100, but it was not an even distribution among the three sections and my highest score was in Writing which, unfortunately, is not considered by schools like Georgetown.

Good luck on raising your score, NiteStriker!

Does anyone else have evidence-substantiated advice?
