The scariest part of the SAT for me right now is sentence completions. I try my best to memorize vocabulary, but I always keep forgetting them. I feel like I have a short term memory lost. When I do the sentence completions I have a difficult time choosing which word is the right one. Even when I know 3 out of 5 of the words, sometimes I still get it wrong also. I make really bad logical guesses on what a word may mean. This is really holding me back, I don't know what to do. I don't read a lot and my vocabulary isn't very good. I feel this is really holding me back, if you guys have any suggestions I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks

For sentence completion questions, I don’t really think there’s any other way to prepare besides to build up your vocabulary. Have you tried using direct hits to help? Some guides and prep books will tell you to notice certain patterns in sentences, such as if there’s a comparison being made, a contrast, etc. to see if the words you choose should be synonyms, opposites, or whatever. But besides that, studying vocabulary’s probably your best bet.
