I took my SAT's in April, and I had a horrible Critical Reading score (440). My Math (620) and Writing (580) are okay, and i was wondering what would be a good way to imporve the critical reading?

improve your vocabulary....a couple hundred words makes all the difference

no - i would recommend using the "mini mo" tactics! guess the answers you'll do better!!

Or... you could, as you're reading a novel or something, look up each of the words you don't know because that will help you out tremendously.

All you can really do is read, unless you have some super machine that can expand the comprehension of your brain in ten seconds.

I say just buy the college board book and do all the practices tests. It worked for me. I went from 650 to 800 in CR between May and October of last year.

Wow, tahi, killer improvement.

CB tests are definitely musts. I would also work on SAT strategy, because SAT CR is not like normal stuff we do in English. On the SAT, they deliberately make CR and RC boring, but in English class, it just often turns out that way by accident (can you say, Pride and Prejudice?!?!?) hahaha

I would get Cracking the SAT along with the CB tests, and if you want more practice, also get PR's 11 Practice Tests book. Awesome.
