How can I increase my ACT english score? I'm finding that all the questions I get wrong are from the rhetorical skills section. How can I improve on rhetorical skills?

Skim a wonderful grammar book called The Elements of Style, which was written by Strunk Jr. and E. B. White. I use this grammar book in my AP English Language and Composition. It is a short book, concise and to the point like any decent writing should be. I find the ACT English section like my AP English Language and Composition grammar tests, except that it is a bit easier.

Read the book on Fumblerules by William Safire. It got my score from a 30 to a 35.

But do those books only focus on the grammatical part of writing? Because I'm mostly having troubles with the rhetorical skills.

The Elements of Style covers all aspects of good writing. However, it doesn't focus on elementary rules of grammar because if you're reading that book, then you're expected to know those things. It covers techniques and such, things that the ACT tests.
