I recently took the SAT and receive a score of 1970. I am going to take it again in January (I'm a junior), and I want to score a 2100+. Can anyone give me some helpful tips and advice on some helpful prep books that helped you. (Already have Direct Hits). Thanks

I’ve heard good things about Baron’s SAT prep book, supposedly it gives you mostly “hard” level questions which make the test itself feel a lot easier

Definitely look into getting Baron’s SAT prep book, helped me a lot! :)

There is very little merit for you to retake the SAT in January. While it would sometimes appear from comments on this board that scores “jump” with little additional preparation the reality is quite different.

The likelihood of a significant jump in 2-3 months is not high. Indeed the CB statistics show an average drop on a retake.

Since you’re a junior plan to retake much later in the year. Think May, June or even October. Identify your weaknesses and focus on these. Time is also on your side – more math, writing and English in school.

Almost all the practice books (Princeton Review, Barrons, etc.) have value if you use them to identify your weaknesses. Once you identified one (within Math or CR) focus on that one, and repeat and repeat.

PWN the SAT math book is great. I’m sure you’ve seen it the Google ads on this site, haha. I would recommend it.
