Just got 1950 in November Sat reasoning Test. My Cr was Bad 570 only. And in Maths I messed up due to Time only 640 as Maths is my strength. Please suggest good online Prep course or Ways to improve it. I am sitting again in Jan 2012.

bump… i need a reply fast… please!!! also can any one tell me how the baron’s online course is??? Cause i have done all the bb tests and the online sat college board course ones… please i need help??? what r some good prep courses/ books???

bump… please i need help fast

Hi! I used College Board’s 10 test book. I didn’t really need to improve my math, but most any of the prep books are good for that–same goes for the reading. For writing, I suggest you get yourself a grammar book, and then do some practice tests.

I suggest Barron’s because it’s harder than the actual test. Don’t take Kaplan, because that’s usually easier. Plus, some of the questions are really weird for that one. Good luck! What’s your ideal score?

i am hoping to get a 2300 but i have already done the baron’s and barons’s 2400 and princeton review… basically, everything… is there like a online course that can help me out… Every time i repeat a test… I seem to remeber the questions vividly… Need help especially on the critical reading… writing i did fine… math was my strength but i just had a nervous breakdown… I have heard of a barons online course how is that??? Any other suggestions to improve my score??? Please really need help… Thnx

i have probs with CR too. Just practice

i have done a lot of practice but I dont have any tests left as I said i have done baron’s and barons’s 2400 and princeton review… basically, everything and i vividly remember the passages… so I need practice tests… i have heard of a barons course??? any recommendations??? (i have done college board bb and online course)
thnx for the advice

bump… anyone with any suggestions for more practice tests??? how is the barron’s online course- same as the books or different questions??? anything good for practice tests… as i said i have already done all of the barron’s books, pr 11 tests, bb, sat online course… please help…
thnx in advance

bump… any help???

How about collegeboard 1 free online test? Did you already do that?

yup… i have done that already… I have done the online course, blue book, baron’s, barron’s 2400, princeton review 11 tests…
do u have any idea about an online course like the barron’s one…
it seems good???

Did you just keep doing them or did you do each test and carefully went over the answers (even the correct ones) and reassessed your problems and weaknesses? What kinds of problems did you get wrong? Was it vocabulary problem or was it the reading comprehension problem?

For CR, if vocab is the problem, doing more tests do not help. You need to learn the words, maybe flash cards or those special vocab books. If it is the reading comprehension and passages, you need to read more, something like read daily newspaper article in major publication like NY Times or equivalent. Read carefully and concentrate on comprehension, or read more books and novel also help. Try reading stuff you are not necessary interested in and try to comprehend and come up to speed with the content of the reading.

For math, doing more practice generally help but you need to review your mistakes and try to find you weaknesses. Gruber is supposed to be a good book for reviewing concepts for math, maybe that will help, but you need to know what topics you are weak at. Make sure you review and prove to yourself that you can do the questions that you got wrong.

So, I would go back and do some of the old tests again and review your old mistakes.

thnx… that was really helpful… I do not have problems with the sentence completion, but reading comprehensions kill me… I read NY times for a month but it did not seem to help my scores… And i did go over tests but perhaps not as thoroughly as required so I am going to do that… Any advice for new tests though??? I want to do more tests to measure my ability, now… As i said i vividly remember the questions from the tests that I have done… Mostly critical reading!!!
Thnx that was very helpful @ttparent
