I'm double majoring in math and finance, and have just finished my freshman year. I haven't taken any finance classes in my freshman year, but have taken math classes and gotten As in all of them (multivariable calc, linear algebra, stats). Would it be alright to list my math GPA and my cumulative GPA, but NOT my finance GPA? Would the fact that I listed a 4.0 for my math GPA, and about a 3.6-3.7 for my cumulative GPA, but NO GPA for finance, make potential employers think I have a sub-3.0 finance GPA? how do I make it clear on my resume that my coursework so far does not include any finance? I'd appreciate any advice. thanks

Put “N/A” in for the Finance gpa.

Also if you had equal footing for Math and Finance with a 4.0 for Math and a 3.7 cum. I would think you would have a 3.3ish in finance, not a sub-3.0, check the math.;)

Good luck.

I think OP said he has yet to take finance classes so they wouldn’t be in his cum GPA.

You haven’t taken any finance classes? How /are/ you doublemajoring then, if you’re only a freshman–I take it all you’ve done is declare that?

^ well, no freshman is allowed to take finance classes, and yet all of them list finance as their major on their resumes. So even though I haven’t taken any finance classes in freshman year, I can still say I’m double majoring in finance and math. So can anyone here who’s been through recruiting/interviewing tell me whether or not saying Major GPA = 4.0 would be disingenuous on my part? I don’t think it is because I’m combining all the classes that are part of my major (even though that includes just math so far)
