How to mail stuff to Cornell? Address is what ?

Hi, guys. Who can tell me how to find out mail address ( or P. O. Box) for new students? We are too far to drive to Cornell. So, we want to mail stuff to there. So far, we know dorm-room number, but we do not know street address and so on. Who has idea? Please help us. Also, which service is safe and fast? Fedex, UPS, and USPS Priority Mail?

Really? The Internet is your friend:

@GolfFather,

Haha. I like your name. I just find out Dorm address online. However, we do not know Cornell uses P.O.Box for student or not. My kid’s school used P. O. Box instead of using room#. Thanks for your short version.

Large boxes and packages will be delivered to a central location (RPCC or Appel). He will need to pick them up and carry them to his dorm. Some dorms get mail in the building. Others have to go to another location. There is at least an extra day added to delivery of packages because of the sorting and notification process.

@Cornellmom2014 if by P.O. box you mean an address that remains unchanged year-to-year, Cornell does not use P.O. boxes. Mail and package notifications are, however, delivered into a box like a P.O. box that corresponds to his/her room, either in a service center or the building itself (for packages, you bring the notification to the desk near the mailbox and claim the item). Your student’s address will change from year-to-year. You can check online if the building your student is staying in has its mail delivered to a service center or not.

Also, this might be helpful:

“If you mail any packages yourself, please make sure items are clearly marked with your name and mailing address, and arrive after Monday, August 12; you can pick up these mailed packages at your Service Center or House Office.” (<a href=“Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University)

Thanks you all of these info. We love Cornell because this- one big family!
