How to make EC Writing a +

Hey,
I'm looking for tips/suggestions.
The directions are very general: Elaborate on an activity.
The thing is, what should you do to make this 150 word box into a plus on your application?

I think it's pretty obvious that you shouldn't just say "we volunteer... have meetings... I organize...". Or do you guys think that is acceptable for a good school - kind of listing what comprises a specific activity you're involved in?
What do you guys think someone should do to make this less pedestrian?

Talk about how an EC is important to you?
How this activity has affected you/ influenced other areas of your life?

Let's get some ideas! I'm sure tons of people could benefit from knowing a better way to fill out this section than listing stuff.

yup…
i’ll bump this. !!

I think it’s important to talk about why it’s important to you and what you do. I wove both into my EC short answer (it took A LOT of editing to get it to the point where I was really proud of it).

I wrote a narrative of what goes through my mind and body when I go to the gym. I wrote it very well and thought it was creative and unique

They’ll hear about the more common EC’s in other parts of my application, I figure.

I elaborated on what I did and wrote a few things I learned.

My short answer was 164 words. Is that all right?
