<p>What should i write to make my essay stand out? this may seem like a vague and frankly stupid question but im applying to some highly selective colleges and im worried about the other parts of my application so im hoping that my essays will really make up for that. Help me if you can please.</p>

<p>Be yourself. That sounds vague and somewhat cliche, but its true. I think too many times people think that you have to have an exciting adventurous life- truth is most people dont. Too many times people try to be something there not- and admission officers can see right through it.Write about something your truly interested in (there was one girl that wrote about her obsession of shoes she got into Yale) or write about someone you truly care about ( A girl who went to Stanford wrote about her step-mom). That is when you do your best writing. Don’t put if off till the last moment, write several drafts, and get advice from family, friends, or teachers. Good Luck :)</p>
<p>Agree with SeattleBulldog. Write something that shows of your personality, and tells the adcoms about you. Don’t try and force it to be something that you’re not; it’ll show. Be yourself and let your real personality shine through. Just make sure you start working on it as soon as possible (so that way you can apply early and be on the ball your senior year, rather than worrying about a bunch of apps!), make several drafts, and have several people edit it.</p>
