How to make your ACT and SAT scores go up?

Everything I have on my resume is great, except my acts and sats....

I went into the ACTs completely blind and got a 24.. which is awful. I got a 26 in math, 26 in reading, 25 or a 24 in english, a 20 in science (eek) and i believe thats it..

my psat score was a 1650. bleh.

I need at least a 30 and to break 2100... how in the world do i do this? i'm an awful test taker

the scores that are easiest to improve are the mid 20 range. request a copy of your latest ACT test. Once you have your latest score and a copy of the test in hand, contact a private “one on one” tutor. the tutor my son used cost $430. he saw my son 3 hours one evening and 3 hours the next day. make the appointment 2 or 3 weeks before the next test date.the tutor will pin point the areas to concentrate your studies.
once you take the test again, repeat the above process as many times as time and money will allow.

If you don’t have a lot of cash for a tutor, get practice books and take as many practice tests as you can. After each test, go over the questions you missed. Analyze them. Are certain types of questions harder for you? Are you being misled by certain types of wrong answers? Are there particular math concepts or grammatical structures you need to review? Keep practicing/reviewing and you will see improvement. There is no magic formula. Just get as familiar as possible with the test. Sign up for SAT question of the day on line, too.
Going from a 24 to a 30 or a 1650 to a 2100 is quite a big improvement to ask for. It is not impossible, but will be very difficult. (A 28 or a 1900 would be a more reasonable goal from your starting point.) Good luck.

I have done almost every ACT book/practice test which equals about over 10. Did not help me. Got 6 hours of tutoring, and raised my score to a 29. I got lucky and only had to pay 25$ for private tutoring. Tutoring helps if you can pay for it!
I have a friend that spend about $3500 on tutoring and doesn’t have the hottest grades but came out with a 30.
Tutoring def. helps!
