How to maximize my chance of getting into HBS/GSB/Wharton

Hey guys,

I am a senior in undergrad thinking about applying to b school a few years down the line (thinking of doing a start-up). I feel like for MBA, there isn't much of a point of attending if you don't get into a good b-school since it's all about networking.

So I was wondering if people who are in top b-schools could tell me how I could maximize my chance of getting into a top b-school (ie. what kind of extracurricular experience I should get involved in, how to distinguish myself when I start full time work, etc.) given my background.

Here are my stats:

School: HYPSM
GPA: 3.9+
Major: technical (similar to applied math)
Work experience:
FT entry level position at MBB
summer analyst at a top 5 BB IBD in NYC
Background: Asian male, international student
GMAT: haven't taken. I will be aiming for 750+.

Thanks a lot, everyone!

What makes you different than anyone else that is applying to top b-schools? That seems like a generic application to me.

generic maybe. but your experience and stats should give you a solid shot at H/S/K/W/M/C. there are tons of folks like yourself littered at the top5 bschools.

He basically has the application the schools are looking for in a candidate. Community involvement could be another nice addition. If you score a 750, then you are a lock to get into multiple top MBAs…assuming you interview fairly well.
