How to memorize more vocabularies for SAT & PSAT?

Hello,

I am a Junior this fall. I'm going to take PSAT in October and the SAT in November. After doing 2 mock tests for PSAT (Kaplan, #1 210, #2 205). I realized my strength was my math and my weakness was my vocabularies. After two weeks of trying, my vocabulary didn't get any better. What should I do to accumulate more vocabularies for the SAT and PSAT test?

Best,

First of all, good luck!
Buy the Barron’s critical reading book; it includes a long list of commonly used sat vocab words. beyond that, it’s really helpful.
Try to memorize synonyms all at once. For example, garrulous and loquacious both mean talkative. Instead of trying to memorize garrulous and loquacious separately, learn all of the synonyms of talkative at once. Then, when you’re done, move on to a different synonym group. Also, it’s less confusing.

Various SAT test prep books include extensive vocabulary lists. I believe I used the Princeton Hit Parade. That’s divided into sections and I made a Quizlet with words/definitions. Every couple of days or so, I would add a new section and use the “Learn” function to do all of them (including the ones from before, so that the list just kept accumulating).

Which SAT book is better??
Barron’s
Princeton
Collegeboard
??

Personally I used the Kaplan 2400 and I think that helped me a lot. That one doesn’t have a word list though, I don’t think.

I haven’t used Princeton’s, Collegeboard’s, and Kaplan’s yet, but I heard that Princeton was pretty good. I use Barron’s, and it’s also good.
