How to memorize new words?

How to memorize all the 1000 common words on Sparknotes. What do you think? Do you suggest me some kind of method?

Take them a few at a time--don't just jam them.

Also try to review a few of them in your free time.

Try to use the words in everyday speech. That's very important.

FLOCABULARY

RAP, check it out.

I live in a vicinity, so vivid dawg.

i read like a - d then e - m then n - z then repeat the whole process then repeat the whole process hahaha

LOL@ artofmind.

I don't know about SAT prep, since I won't be doing that until like 1 1/2 years, but when I was required to memorize words for school, like 30 usually per test, I went through them extremely fast (like 2 minutes for all of them), then I saw how many I could remember, take those out, go extremely fast again...and in 5~10 minutes I'm done studying.

You could try to look over some of the words right before you go to bed. I usually remember them better that way.

i recommend "word smart 1", there are like 800 words, and 2-3 sentences of word usage.
that book, along with "word smart 2, and word smart GRE" helped me alot.
memorzing words by definition is not enough. reading a sentence and grasping its meaning is the key...
enough said, but work hard; memorizing words is easy, but you gotta be determined. =/
