How to not procrastinate

OKAY so i set a deadline for myself to finish (at least draft one) of UC apps by today... DIDN'T HAPPEN. So I'm gonna make a new set of deadlines for myself.... BUT... I don't have any ideas on how to enforce them. So... Any ideas?

I wouldn't know.

rent a storage space,
have only the necessary materials,
ask the storage operator to lock from the outside,
inform him to not open when you beat on the door and scream,
tell him to call an ambulance when the beating stops.

you wont procrastinate again, guaranteed!

Agreed.

Either that or have your mom smack you or something. I'm having trouble getting through the UC personal statements too. I set guidelines but either I get distracted or I just can't think. So I guess it's just based on willpower and willingness. Try to think that if you DON'T meet the deadline, you're screwed. And Thanksgiving is coming up soon...Which means that you'll be busy eating your turkey or something. Make sure you get it turned it at least a week before!!

Wow, I should be taking my own advice. Good Luck!

the only reason i tsubmitted my app last friday is cuz of my mom. everyday she asked me "so how are ur apps. going? try to finish them as soon as possible" and at the end i was so annoyed that i just finished them. annoyance=no procrastination.

before doing anything thing tell yourself is that necessary. Before going off your books to eat a "snack" tell yourself if it is necessary becuase you will eventaully end up doing more than just having a snack. food and all those stuff should be cultivated before starting to study. And everyone know that you cant study when you are hungry...

Don't do it all in one sitting...that will only make you stress out. If you set a goal for yourself (like "I'll do the first two paragraphs and then go do something else for a little while.") Making a bunch of small tasks and combining them into one big task as the end product is the best way to go, IMO.

Happy writing! ;]
