I am an international student. I got admitted to CCNY for the fall 2010 semester...... I was wondering how to make the payments while registering. Do I pay in cash, where I would have to carry the money with me while traveling? Or is there any option for me to open a bank account there, so that my sponsor can send the money directly to the bank?

Please I could really some help regarding this.

If you or your sponsor have a credit card, you can pay your bill online. If you get to the US several weeks in advance, you can open a bank account, have your sponsor transfer money into that account and then write a check or withdraw money to pay your bill. If you happen to have family or trusted friends in the US, you might be able to transfer your tuition fees to their account and ask them to write you a check.

Otherwise you might need to carry enough cash with you to pay your tuition fees.

If you do end up carrying a large amount of money, I suggest you buy traveler’s checks. They can be replaced if they get lost or stolen.

Thank you so much!
