Browse the premed forum there is lots of advice there.

How much do you have in your budget? How much would you/your daughter have to borrow?

Med school is extremely expensive, with little or no available financial aid (other than loans).
So unless you are rather wealthy, you ought to have a very good reason not to go with Scranton.
Med school admission seems to be mostly about GPA and MCAT scores (not where you go to college.)

By local Uconn campus, do you mean regional campus? If it’s the main campus, Uconn would likely be the best choice.

I can only speak for Scranton, but I know that when my son attended (class of 2011) they had very high acceptance rates to med school and law school. You might want to compare those statistics between the schools. My son was very happy with the amount of personal attention from both professors and administration. It is very easy to form close relationships with profs, which I’m sure would help when LOR’s are needed.

I really depends on your family’s financial situation. Tufts is the highest ranked, most prestigious school – but it comes at a big cost. If you can absorb the cost and still pay for med schools comfortably, then I’d go there. RPI is another fine school but again, it is more than the others and should only be considered if the final price tag is comfortable. If money is an issue as it is for most people, then certainly consider UConn (by local do you mean as a commuter or at a branch campus or just that you are a resident) or Scranton. There is a big difference between UConn and Scranton so consider the environment she’d prefer (ex. size of schools, location of schools, public v Jesuit, do big time sports matter to her, does Greek life matter, is she in any kind of honors program at UConn etc…)
