How to prep for the ALEKS Math and Chem Exams for UT?

Can someone give me some tips to prepare for these exams, I want to do well enough that I don’t have to take these things again…

NOTE: For the ALEKS Math, I need a 70+, for the ALEKS Chemistry, I need an 85+

Thank you!

@HTownNative I can’t speak to the Chemistry but, we’ve watched a few students go through ALEKS math.
The best advice I can give is to not wait until the last minute before Orientation to start, if you think you may need some review.
The UT ALEKS program, which you will purchase soon for about $50, will let you take the test and then review you on problem areas until you pass. If you take the time to complete all of the suggested work, you should be in excellent shape when you take the assessment for real during orientation.
Good luck!

ok thank you

Not trying to intimidate you here but be very careful when you take the test after each chemistry module, since it will decrease your progression if you get a low score which implies that you would have to go over the same module (watch the same video, do the same exercise problem, etc) and therefore it could be extremely time consuming. I’ve watched my friends going through that before they took Chem 301 and it was really frustrating to see that everything got reverted back an hour ago

You have to take the Math Assessment at your orientation so start with that one. Be sure to allow time in case you don’t score well the first time so you can review. You have the summer to work on ALEKS Chemistry. It is time consuming so don’t wait. Get started on it and work thru the summer as needed. Good luck!
