How to prep for the PSAT for the next two weeks?

Ok, so the PSAT is in exactly two weeks...and I need to prep even more this week since I have fall break. Here's how I'm doing so far...btw, I need a 214 max. to qualify for NMSF (since it was 209 this year, according to my counselor).

Reading: 3 vocab usually wrong/omit , 2 multiple choice omit usually wrong ---about a 70/71ish
Math: usually get just the really hard questions wrong (3 or 4)--not careless mistakes--I just don't know how to do them--about a 69/70
Writing: 4 identifying sentence errors wrong 69/70

How do you suggest I continue prepping for the PSAT in two weeks and the SAT in November?

well, the W section is SO EASY TO IMPROVE

do you have the barron’s SAT book? that book increased my W score from a 57 (freshie psat) to a 73 (soph psat)

just practice and practice and practice, you’ll do really well!

and it looks like your scores are way above avg as it is, you shouldn’t be TOO worried.

which state do you live in? i’m in MO, i think that our cut off is around 211-213 =(

strangeindianfoo, how long did you use barron’s sat book for? i have it and i’ve used a bit of it but haven’t completed it yet..

i basically did every problem in the book and all the practice tests ( CR, M, W)

i found it MOST useful on the W section

however some CR and M questions would never ever be seen on the SAT, but the practice is nice i guess.

thank you strangeindianfoo! i have lots of work to improve my CR (currently in the mid to low 600s) ..

the blue book and 10 real SATs is amazing practice for CR

i went from a 51 (or 57, i can’t remember… 50 something) CR to 76

what grade are you in dolcevalse? do you have to take PSAT this yr?

I’m in the same boat. I’m a junior and I think I’ll get around 205-210. However last year I took it as a sophomore and expected a 200+ but got a 188 instead.

lithium, good luck on your PSAT! Hope you make semi!
and to you all! hope you make semi!

strangeindianfoo, i’m a junior. did TERRIBLY in W & CR (50 and 56, respectively) and ok in math (72 - got 2 things wrong). was hoping for 80 in math since i was taking calc ab then, but i’m over it.

would you recommend me to do practice tests or CR exercises? i’m using the barron’s book and that has a lot of CR exercises .. not sure how easy or difficult they are compared to the real thing tho..

barron’s is sooo dense though…
