So I’m a senior and I am really worried about my chances of getting into a good college. I want to go into premed (bio major) or biochemical engineering. My stats are listed above, but I did not include my ACT score. The reason behind this is because they kinda suck. I got a 28 my first time, and I just got my second score: 27. I’m really mad about this; I studied much harder for the second one, and I got a lower score. My English, science, and reading sub scores dropped even though I spent considerably more time on them, and I got a 31 on my Math sub score (which is higher than my last because I got a 29 my first time). So now, I am considering taking the December test, because all of the colleges require that I submit scores in by mid January (11th-15th). I’m really confused on what I should do (a bit demoralized even). I also do not have the money to pay for a tutor. I need help and what can I do to get a score of 31+, because at this point I’m aiming for something as low as a 31. I’m starting to study in October because I am taking the math 2 subject test in October, and I am dedicating my time towards that.

Reading scores range:24-26
English scores range:26-28
Science scores range: 25-27
Math scores range: 29-32
How do I improve these, and what are the necessary steps I should take

What did you do to prepare for this most recent test?

(asking so I can know what you have already done and what isn’t working for you)

Okay so I spent about three weeks from the Red Act book. Every weekday I spent 1-2 hours doing 1-3 sections. Every Saturday I took one practice test and Sundays I went over the answers (I tried to see what I did wrong before I checked the answer solution/ this applies to the sections I did over the weekdays). I used the red and black ACT books. Thank you so much for the quick reply.

What are some review books you recommend?

Yo I am in a similar situation rn and can’t figure out why I am not excelling on the act. It makes me mad since I am academically capable. Pls reply when if you figure out something

Have you tried the SAT? That format might be better for you. Maybe try a practice SAT test and see how it compares. Also if you took the PSAT, that might give you a clue.
