How to prepare for the ACT

I will be taking the ACT on September, and plan to prepare for it during summer. I was wondering if I could prepare well enough with prep books (such as The Real ACT and/or Kaplan). Do you know of anyone who have scored perfectly, or close to perfect? If so what was his/her strategy? Any advice is more than welcome.

Wrong place to post this in. Try the ACT Preparation section.
But since I’m already here, I guess I’ll give you some advice. I took the ACT in April and got a 35 composite. I didn’t getany prep books, I just did online practice questions (on Sparknotes!) and then I took a practice ACT at my school. In the couple of days before the test, I brushed up on some algebra/trigonometry since ACT math is more “advanced” than SAT math. Reading is hard to study for, but it’s pretty straightforward, at least much more so than SAT CR. There are no sentence completions on the ACT. The science section is all graph/data/scientific passage based, so no prep needed there. Go to Sparknotes test prep ACT. It’ll help.

Oops! My bad. Thanks a lot for the answer, though!

I’m new to CC

Don’t worry about it. It takes a while to figure out how to find the best Forum for a question!

No need to apologize. CC takes some time to get used to. I just figured out how to quote things in my posts!
