Does anyone know of any other math competitions besides the AMC/AIME/USAMO?

USAMTS, Mandlebrot, Mu Alpha Theta, ARML, the iTest

Those are the big ones I can think of.

emily, it was 112

wow so i did guess right..i picked the multiple of 14 for some reason haha.

so if i didnt make any stupid mistakes (which im sure i did) i got over 100.

Darn! I think I got a 99. 14 right and 1 wrong. Maybe I will still get in?
** This thread has gone far beyond what it was intended for, but hey this is the first time a thread I started went over 2 pages :)

This year's was OK, the last few questions are easier than normal I'd say. 22 right, 3 blank = 136.5.

uh, how about, screw the school and take it anyway? forgo your break man!
and, tips:
-review arithmetic mean, geometric mean, harmonic mean,
-review diophantine equations
-review modular arithmatic

those appear the most on hard problems

Um does anybody know if your aloud to take test B, if you did not pass A (i mean 100)

brainless,
yes you can take both test A and test B. (Or atleast that was true in the last 3 years so I'm assuming it will be true this year as well).

24 right; 1 omit. That gets me a 145.5.

You always can take test B. Test B is just an alternate form of the AMC for the people and schools that can't take the A. Many schools and people take both.

The AMC A/B system is different from the AIME I/II system. Anyone can take the A test, B test, or both for any reason. The AIME is different in that you have to have a good reason for taking AIME-II, and you can't take both. This doesn't apply to the AMC, though.

Eww...AMC is my nightmare. I'm forced to take it every year, and I just plain suck at all the problems. Maybe it's because I don't study, but still.

oh thanks for the info i am dead serious my teacher said you can not take both. Uhhh i dont know what to do, she would probably start to bs

brainless: Your teacher is incorrect, unless she means that the school has not ordered enough tests to allow for students to take both and thus restricts you to taking one or the other. That is almost certainly not the case. If she doesn't let you take the B test at your school after you tell her this, look for another school to take it at.

i think what she mean is our school doesnt do both because you cant take both or something like that
but is it possible that my school signed up for only form A (because if they di then Isee her point) because then i wouldnt be able to take it at my school.

is anybody taking form a and B, if they did not make 100 on amc 12?

or AMC 10?

So I guess the qualifying score for this year is 97.5.

who told you that? I desperately hope so...

It's true. Here's an announcement straight from the AMC director, Steve Dunbar.

AMC12A cutoff is 97.5
AMC10A cutoff is 117.0
