Hi! I got 1970 in the October SAT (international) and I was wondering what would be the best study plan to increase to at least 2200, even 2400. I got 590 in Critical Writing (my January 2010 was 610, and this one went pretty well..), 690 in Maths and Writing (10 in the essay).

I'm planning on reading silverturtle's guide, for one, and solve more official tests.

I’d like to know too, although I already have an approach. You’re an international so I think the standards can be a bit lower for you. I personally got a 650 in CR, but I got every single sentence completion question right, so you might want to study: [SAT: Improve SAT Score with SparkNotes: The Top 250 Most Difficult SAT Words](<a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides)

For math, I think practice tests are the way to go. There really isn’t anything too difficult about math, you just have to approach it with a straight and pragmatic attitude.

As for writing, practice! The essay is harder, however. If you like a topic, you might do better. For example, I got an 11 on the essay up from my previous 8, but I really liked my topic. Look around for the “How to get a 12” on the SAT essay guide, because despite getting almost the same amount of questions right, the change from an 8 to 11 brought mine up to 790.

I have an inbox of SAT Questions of the Day that I haven’t solved yet. There are around 400 of them.

I used to get like 2100-2200 from the Practice Tests, so it really surprised me when I got 1970… I always used to get 700 and the test went well for me.

I think I have the essay in the bag, honestly, but a 12 can’t hurt.
