How to prepare for the PLAN test

My school requires sophmores to take the PLAN which will either be in late September or October. How can I go ahead and start preparing for the test? It's very important to me that I do well because I have to submit my scores in January to a new high school I'm applying to. Also, would it be reasonable to try and get some testing(SATs or ACTs) done by the end sophmore year? If I don't do well on the PLAN, I also might have time to take the SAT...

There’s no point in preparing. I hardly ever hear about that test. Just take it and see how you do without prep.

Not necessarily. If you can get amazing scores in your sophomore year, they’ll be even better by junior year. For example, my ACT score rose 2 points from sophomore to junior year without any studying.

I have to submit my scores to a school so if I do bad how can I make up for it…

Oh, okay, I didn’t read that part. Applying to high schools is a foreign concept to me.
I would suggest ACT prep books. I haven’t seen all that many books specifically for the PLAN. The PLAN is easier than the ACT, and you’ll be preparing for that at the same time.

Thank you halcyonheather, I appreciate it!
