In December I'm taking the US history, Math 1 and Chemistry subject tests. Just wondering how I could best prepare for them. How is the curve on these tests is it similar to the regular SAT or would you say it is more lenient? I received a 2100 on my regular SAT does that score correspond at all to what I might get on the subject tests?

Subject tests test an entirely different material (except for math) so you can’t really predict subject test scores from the SAT I.

Also, both distributions are roughly normal, but the average score on the subject tests is usually higher (around 600-700) than the regular SAT. This is because people tend to take the ones that they’re best at.

The curve for math 1 isn’t lenient at all. You have to get 100% to get an 800. I’d recommend doing math 2. Even though there’s more advanced stuff, it’s one of, if not the easiest, SAT IIs to get an 800 on. You can miss up to 6 or 7 and still get an 800.

The curve for US history is pretty high because the wording of the questions usually trips many people up.

Not too sure about chem, but it’s probably around only a couple wrong until you lose your 800. I know that bio has the harshest grading out of the science subject tests, and you can only miss 2 or 3 for bio.

Wow that was a really harsh grading curve for math 1. Wishing I would’ve taken math 2 I talked to someone who had taken it and it was basically everything I’m currently doing. Did decent on the other two though.
