How should I prepare from now until the december SAT? I did an alright amount of studying over the summer but nothing too crazy. I was just wondering how many sections I should do per day/week and when I should start doing full on practice tests.
Edit: My average scores for each subject are:
700-760 Reading
780-800 Math
710-790 Writing (inconsistent with Writing)
My goal is a 2250 or above.

Well, coming from a probable 2350er (I’ll know for sure in 15 days!!) you should start doing a full practice test at least once or twice a week for now, as well as study lots of vocab (to do this, first go through all the direct hits/ hot words books and make flash cards for every one you do not know because those are all really important to know, after you learn all of those, then find more lists on the internet). Trust me, learning vocab may seem like a picayune task, but not knowing it could be egregious to your score :)

It seems like you’re already pretty good in math, so you might not want to even practice math at all (that’s what I did, and it allows you to focus on something you actually need, like reading).

As the test gets nearer, start taking more and more practice tests. For reading, make sure that you are really analyze every question after scoring the test. Analyze the ones you got wrong AND right!!! For writing, just keep practicing and going over the ones you got wrong and eventually, you will get the “eye” for noticing mistakes easily, as well as what to look for to make sure you get the questions right. Make sure you also read a good thread on how to get a high score on the essay. Again, a high essay score could make it so you don’t have to get every MC right, which is a big help.

The week before the test, take a full practice test like every other day or even every day if you have the time, and on Friday, take an easy day, with no practice at all, and go to sleep early.

Good luck!

thanks for the help! Yea i think i need to start working on my essay…i have a pretty good list of handy examples but i need to start practicing how to write it :D
