How to prepare?

Is studying by yourself better than attending those courses??
If so, how should I study??

My mom wants me to attend Princeton Review's class during summer, but I've heard a lot of bad things about it here... so I'm thinking maybe I should just buy a book and study. But HOW do you study for it? Do you just read through the prep book and do the practice tests?

I'm so confused... :(

The PR class is great, actually. But you should start with a book or two and see how you do, and then look at a class if you need it. I have PR's Cracking the SAT, and their 11 Practice Tests book, and both are awesome. I would start with the Cracking book -- read it straight through. It has an overview of the test, tips for each section and practice questions for each, and a bunch of tests. Do the practice questions as you go. Start taking practice tests when you're familiar enought with the test.

Also be sure to get the College Board's official practice tests.
