How to Prepare?

Could some of you who were successful in your graduate school application process shed some light on a lowly (rising) Junior? Should I start doing anything for grad school this summer (GRE Prep, etc.)?

Get to know your professors - you'll be need LORs and this is one area that almost everyone lets slide until fall of their senior year.

If you're really nervous about the GRE, download PowerPrep from ETS and take a timed practice test. It is free and the tests are virtually identical to the real thing.

Start researching programs where you may want to apply and become familiar with their deadlines and application requirements. Also look into the research interests of the professors in those programs to get an idea of what your "fit" will be. Your own professors will also be a valuable source of information about "fit" as well.

Then relax and have a great summer!
